They have been procured by the WD, at his own expense, to provide som extra competitive frisson to the 2011 season.
“How can I get hold of one of these?” I hear you ask? Well, they will be given, free of charge or obligation, to the first nine full members with more than 2 events under their belt (no ‘introducers’) who hole out for a gross birdie in full Stapleforth competition on tour. No gimmes, no ‘net birdies’, all claims to be witnessed by a fellow member. Only one will be awarded per member, and only nine are available. All I ask is that you’re happy to pose for a photo with yours after you earn it. You can also choose to use it ‘off tour’, no fancy rules and regulations here, you’re even allowed to sell it on if you can get a good price from a sucker fellow tour member.
This might sound simple, but a few of us failed to card a gross birdie at all on tour last year!
