After a Very Windy and Challenging Day

A number of us were up against the clock to get to Mike’s for the kiddies fireworks party (we were all late – it took 5 hours in the wind and leaves to do 18 at Ingon Manor), and a very confusing conclusion to the round, and year – including a consultation of the rules of golf to determine if the Pres had indeed scored an absolutely critical point on the last hole of the season. We had to rush off, so the Salver is in my boot with the Dog, and who knows where the Shark is, so we have no victory pictures for the Spoonholders Salver.

Bruce’s match report is likely to feature heavily on how well he played in scoring 38 points in those conditions, mullering the field, but the real action was in the final three, where a tortuous conclusion saw all of us get 30 (ish) points, including Dougal weighing in with Back to Back 4 pointers. 2nd and 3rd and 4th and 5th came down to countback – with some very long putts dropping on the last.

Here are the end of season standings and handicaps – assuming that the OoM prize money is unchanged from 2012 levels.
