Quick Reflections on a Great Day

As I sit in my kitchen, waiting for my oven ready supper to cook, watching Rory muller another field full of yanks, and feeling my forehead slowly cook I think that I’ve had one of my best WHV days.

I didn’t defend my Brissle title, and won only the most ridiculous of the spot prizes (but the truest test of shot making),  yet feel more fulfilled after putting in a great shift with the team in the morning par three shootout, and then competing hard all afternoon to keep Ron (and Mike) in sight before finishing strongly to win my group and break 80 for the first time in 20 years.

All credit again to Ron actually Rob, for another day full of quality and competition around a great little track, and to the wider society for coming out in force for a long day out a long way from home – there was some immense scoring today from some of our unsung members, and congratulations to Woolly for breaking his cherry, and Nelly for setting a very silly scoring record.

I think the only blot on my day, apart from the quality of bridesmaid at the BBW wedding, was the performance of the most vocal villa fan in the We Hate Villa society – deciding to wear his ponces shirt, sulking because villa displayed no fight or class when the chips were down, and then singing like a good when mighty Hull turned out not to be worse than Villa.

I’m planning to eat, Donk, watch match of the day and then send out the invite to the Captain’s Matchplay, which is all booked for June 6th
