Here we are, a maiden report by the other bloke who isn’t Woolly – he was unstoppable round Cleobury Mortimer – excellent work Little Nelly
2015 matchplay report
The location for this years event was cleobury Mortimer golf club!
We all arrived at around 8:30 and gathered in the bar, where tea, coffee and bacon sarnies were on offer.
All the boys seemed to be in good spirits, donk then presented the prize for the event, which was a ring that only Mr T himself could pull off! Paul aka wolly then appeared wearing a bright orange tshirt, the prize from the previous tournament! He looked a million dollars,
Onto the golf, we all gathered on the first tee for the opening round of matches, my opponent was woolly who after winning the previous event was the form man, going out with us was donk and greggors! If memory serves me right, first on the tee was Mike who, very uncharacteristically completely missed the ball on his first swing, much to everybody’s amusement! His second swing saw him conect this time but to top it massively and see it go around 30 yards, we all offered him words of support as he trudged off after it!
My first drive was a good one just trimming the trees on the right, this was to continue throughout the day! Woolly struggled over the first 9 and I beat him 3 and 2! The highlight was hitting a rescue over the lake to the par 3 7th!
After the first round of matches were complete we headed into the clubhouse for ham egg and chips! My next opponent was Adam, joining us in the second 9 was will vs donk! Will won 5 and 4 I think and I beat Adam 3 and 2! On approaching the 9th green we where greeted by Millers and Mike! Who from a distance looked like they were performing some kind of weird sex act as millers was lying on Mike with his top half off, unfortunatly there intimate moment was spoilt when I shanked a 7 iron to the back off the green and they had to move so I could pitch back on!
So onto the final, me vs will, I had a 3 shots on him! he started well going one up on the first! I managed to then come back and take a 2 hole lead! He won the 8th so I needed to halve the last to win it! We both landed on the green after 4 shots almost exactly the same distance apart, maybe about 10ft from the hole! Will was up first and almost sank his putt, leaving it about 2 inches short! I then was starting to feel the pressure! Having 2 shots to halve the hole and bag my first ever win! My first putt was terrible knocking it about 2ft past! With my heart racing I managed to knock it in for the win!
I also managed to bag the shark after a sweet 9 iron on the par 3 sixth! I think greggors baged the dog with longest drive!

Apart from great ham, Cleobury also had some phenomenal pies, until we cleared them out
Of course, you could ignore the magic pies, and go for ham egg and chips again, with a Guinness, on a little table all by yourself. And call everyone else weird.
