During some confusing post-round banter after today’s sunkissed round, there was a claim by the ‘best ever TD’ that he had won the big dog at least 15 times, with many of them in the days before Donk – in the mists of time and the era of the Flame.
I’ve taken some time to check the veracity of this statement, and I think it isn’t strictly true. Todays 262 yard drive, to an inch of the rough, and triggering a completely unnecessary episode of cock waggling on the 18th tee, was the FIFTH Big Dog that the TD has won in the Donk Era. This places him sixth in the Dogging League in the events since the start of 2009.
So, he could have won 10 of the 16 pre-Donk era Dog’s, if there were such a thing, but I think we need to see some evidence before he continues to wander around shouting about his Dogging skills.
Still, at least he’s won five more than Millers – 49 events and no Dogs won, despite being quite a boy off the tee.
