Members – your annual opportunity to compete in the truest test of WHV golf – man on man matchplay action, is here again.
Your Captain cordially invites all playing members of the WHV Golf Society to return to Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club to contest the 2016 Matchplay event. The event will take place on Saturday 18 June 2016. The day will be contested over 27 holes, and three rounds of 9 hole matches to determine who shall have the honour of wearing the Matchplay Champions Ring during the Claret Jug Weekend.
Breakfast – ‘the Cleobury’ will be served from 9.30am
At 10.30am the first round of matches will be contested over the Foxes Run course – with the 2015 Runner Up – a Mr W Spittle – hopefully making a much better job of driving off with the Son of the Spitfire than the bleeding idiot Allsopp did last year.
The traditional WHV lunch of Ham, Egg and Chips will be taken by all members from 12.30pm
At 1.30pm we will be playing the next matches on the Deer Park nine, and concluding the final matches on the Badgers Sett from 3.40pm.
The fee for 27 holes and supporting nosebag is £40 – with an additional £5 in consideration for competition prizes.
