2019 Amy Austin Match Report

Amy Austin Spectacular Triumph for Millers – a spectacular return to winning form sends shockwaves through WHVGS

On a claret jug weekend full of new beginnings, debutants and fresh meat, some things remained refreshingly familiar with a welcome return to form for the most popular boy on tour. It’s been nearly 2 years but a return to the WHV winners circle for Miller was greeted with great celebration. (It’s actually well over three years, and just about five if you discount sham Miller events round scabby tracks – Captain) Playing in the marquee group with Ronno, Dug & Huge, Miller rose to the occasion in fine style, winning with 42 points, a gross 86 and also taking the Dog with a monster long drive of almost 234 yards. Quizzed on his defeat to Millers, a typically magnanimous Dougal Baxter stated; “I was never at the races to be honest, finishing with 2 four pointers was just a little tickle. Miller played superbly all day and is very attractive and emotionally intelligent human being. Losing to him was a pleasure.” Miller was especially pleased with his most recent win and return to the winners circle: “The Amy Honest is one the greatest and most emotional events on tour. A key part of the CJ weekend it sets the scene for the whole event. I’ve waited over 10 years to claim this title and it’s a very special moment.” Elaborating further young Miller stated: “What with the lift off and throw offs happening today, I’m lucky that I even got a look in to be honest. This win is going to be the springboard for total domination next season.” So you mean like Boyce in the fantasy golf? “Err, not exactly. I plan to win more than this.” But you can’t play off 20 for ever you lying, cheating shark bandit bastard: “Is that wrong? Boyce and Dug have been managing their handicaps for years. It’s like turning up to a gun fight with knives. Or something like that, but with less gear.” Somewhat over shadowed by the momentus victory in the WHV lift off competition for Mr Gregory, Miller drew parallels to his own victory in the Amy: “Form is temporary but class is permanent. Lots of people were thinking this was a forgone conclusion, but I still had to turn up and score 42 points. Just like Christopher in the lift off. Only slightly less gay.”
