The 2nd major of the year and the Presidents was held at the Astbury GC near Bridgenorth. This was the first time the president had been held here and your first visit since it was no longer owned by KK Downing of Judas Priest fame.
The course looked in good nick, the sun was shinning, and the breakfast baps looked great. Unfortunately, the turn out wasn’t with only 8 members making the trip to Bridgenorth.
As normal the teams were drawn, and pairs selected and then we were off. Everyone managed to get a good drive away on the first apart from the eventual winner who topped his drive 50 yards and was millimetres from being in the creak. The front 9 didn’t offer to much of a challenge apart from those of us who create our own challenges. The back 9 was certainly harder with the long rough really come in to play.
The Dog was won by Miller who creamed an excellent drive straight down the middle and Donk won the shark with a beautiful wedge shot. The overall winner was me on 37 points and Wooly was runner-up on 32 points. And the Captains team took the team event with a convincing 3-1 win.
Well done all and another great Presidents!! Thanks for sorting Pres.
