I started this in June after a car full of us played Turnberry. I suspect that Rob and Ron will update their lists in the comments, but this is one of the stated ambitions of the President to take the society to these hallowed venues.

Here’s the Captain getting acquainted with the impressive claret jug he won on the annual corporate beano to the Open. He didn’t defend it, but it now bears his name forever.

I’ve also, because he couldn’t see the calendar on the front page, updated the actual tour schedule page for the first time in about three years – it is now fully up to date. You never know, I might actually get round to updating some of the other dormant parts of the site now – WordPress is easier than ever to use.

This chap is called Jack Frost. He does a living statue/mime/spinning glass balls on his hands act.

He got upset with a Japanese tourist who started doing acrobatics in front of him.

This is the big time Xmas attraction laid on for Christmas Shoppers in Stratford. But at least it had a little more glamour than the Winter Wonderland we got to see the week after – 2 reindeers and no Santa with a few bales of hay and some crowd barriers. Simply magical.

Don’t recognise the other chap.

Biggest poker fair in Europe, on Leicester Square. Lotsa dolly birds, fast motors and sleazy looking dudes, but no sign of Noz or Ron, and I had a proper look round. They might be waiting for the action to hot up on the tables though.

NEW VILLAGE CENTRE MANAGER APPOINTED

The Harborne Village Centre Partnership (HVCP) is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Gregory as the new Village Centre Manager in Harborne.

Chris brings over 10 years experience in similar roles in Solihull & Walsall and takes over from Bob Flack, who has been appointed to a broader Town Centre Management role within Birmingham City Council.

Chris will be concentrating on an action plan of key improvements over the coming months and projects will include:
Continuing to develop the HVCP website at www.harbornevillage.co.uk
– Co-ordinating events such as the monthly Farmers’ Markets and the Christmas Lights
– Issuing quarterly newsletters to key business and community contacts
– Improving the landscaping & cleansing of the Village centre
– Developing a scheme to improve the appearance of any empty shop units
– Organising a seasonal programme of street entertainment

Paul Burgess, HVCP Chairman said “We are delighted to welcome Chris as the new Village Centre Manager and look forward to working together with as many local businesses & organisations as possible on significant improvements to what is already a fantastic place to live, shop, work and visit. Helluva Boy”
