I started this map back in 2009, and stopped updating it because I’m not sure anyone ever looked at it. But now we have a pretty clear record of all the WHV events in history, so it didn’t take too long to bring it up to date.

Some things to note – it’s been a long time since we went north – 2008 for the Jug – Wales should make up for that a little, but there’s quite a lot of the UK let for us to cover. Breadsall Priory is the furthest North East the society has ever ventured.

Scotland and Ireland and most of Europe looks like plenty of space to explore too

I’ve captured all of the hole by hole and point by point action from the four Stapleforth rounds so far this year, and over the next few days, as I make sure the tables are all still working, I’ll post some insights into your games here

First up – points per hole – no surprise to see Aust up there – he may well have posted the first WHV round with no blobs or single point holes yesterday…

King of the Dogs?

During some confusing post-round banter after today’s sunkissed round, there was a claim by the ‘best ever TD’ that he had won the big dog at least 15 times, with many of them in the days before Donk – in the mists of time and the era of the Flame.

I’ve taken some time to check the veracity of this statement, and I think it isn’t strictly true. Todays 262 yard drive, to an inch of the rough, and triggering a completely unnecessary episode of cock waggling on the 18th tee, was the FIFTH Big Dog that the TD has won in the Donk Era. This places him sixth in the Dogging League in the events since the start of 2009.

So, he could have won 10 of the 16 pre-Donk era Dog’s, if there were such a thing, but I think we need to see some evidence before he continues to wander around shouting about his Dogging skills.

Still, at least he’s won five more than Millers – 49 events and no Dogs won, despite being quite a boy off the tee.

Following a request from Nozzy Boy, because he believes he is on another hot attendance streak (his perfect record was only broken because he was attending his sick daughter whilst the rest of the society was agreeing that the Brissle Half should count towards the tour, for once) – here is the participation table for the full society

Other things to note – Mike and I have passed the 50 mark without receiving our 50 badges, and if Aust makes it to the Spoonholders, he’ll join that exclusive club.

After much to-ing and fro-ing on some dim and distant events and members walking off before the rounds were completed, we are in a position now as shown below – no one is at 50, but 3 members will hit that target at the Amy Austin and one at the Claret Jug – a major milestone for all of them.

Donk-a-Metrics Presents: Event Participation

Now we seem to have finalised on 51 events having taken place, I can share the following table.

As you’ll see, a number of stalwarts are approaching the magical 50 Club – I have just placed the order for the shirt decorations to be issued to commemorate such a significant milestone, hopefully I’ll have them with me at the Presidents.

In the meantime, let’s hope that Bruce can keep his appearance streak going long enough to break the Noz-run of 40 consecutive appearances.

You can’t pick your teams, but the Captain and President can make some pairings, and you can try and wager sensibly with the random number generator that is Gamble Gibbon.

The Presidents Classic is a different days golf, but by reviewing the numbers below (clicky for biggy) it looks like you wouldn’t go far wrong backing Millers to score points, but the mighty Baxter has yet to win a single point in the afternoon in the 4 events I have the details of

We’re almost to the big 50 – which will get it’s own fanfare, but here is a look at some of the detail I’m working on. This is, as far as I know, detail of the first 49 winners.

Below the table (clicky to see biggy) you’ll see the participation record – drop me a note if you took part in events before I started to keep the records and I don’t have a green square against your name. We’re operating on an honours system of claims at the moment, but we might need some corroboration from witnesses if you claim to have entered more events than Noz!
