IMPORTANT – SHIRT NEWS

Right, this is an important one.

Your board has made great progress, with admirable support from within the ranks, in negotiating the procurement of a quality item at a bargain price. Many of you have committed to purchase a couple of shirts, in one of two shades of blue (Mike), at a cost of £30 each – this is great, because the popularity of this high quality offer has meant we can now have the shirts personalised, that’s right!

So, aside from having a FootJoy shirt, with the WHV logo on your chest, and ‘Home of the Stapleforth Mutliball’ on one sleeve and your name on your back below the collar. We may have considered adopting the same numbering system that cricket uses, but that would likely have lead to A LOT of arguing over who was member #1, 2, and 3 because that detail is lost in the mists of time.

What we need from you is what you’d like embroidered on the back of your shirt(s) – bearing in mind, for reasons of space, you cannot quote Churchill, or the Streets. You are also not allowed to have anything defamatory, racist, ageist or sexist on your shirt.

May we suggest either your name, your given WHV name, or a similar name you aspire to. Low level boasting is permitted, but the unofficial shirt committee reserves the right to reject without right to appeal any proposal it deems to be inappropriate.

The Captain has taken the opportunity to prepopulate a suggested name for your shirts in the sheet below. Please advise me via comment, email, text message or whatsapp if you need to change any of your details. (Any boy deciding to take less shirts than they previously requested, will be in serious trouble).

For those of you using Safari on an iphone (try Chrome, or better still, get a phone for a grown up), here’s a link to see the sheet.

If that still doesn’t work, here are some screen grabs of the table

For reference – the shirts are here (cobalt) and here (navy) on the FootJoy website – these shirts have measurements on the site if you want to get the tape out. Or you could get off your butts and go into American Golf and try the item on, which is what I did.

Whilst they state ‘athletic fit’, they are not similar to the Arsenal Puma kit which was last seen demolishing Aston Villa, they are slightly less roomy than our current Greg Norman shirts.
